About Caitlyn

Caitlyn Herzlinger is a fight director, intimacy director, educator, and arts administrator whose work spans professional theatre and higher education. She is passionate about creating dynamic, story-driven physical storytelling while fostering rehearsal spaces built on collaboration, safety, and trust.

Her professional credits include the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, New Stage Theatre and numerous regional theatres and universities, where she has served as both Fight Director and Intimacy Director. Her work emphasizes choreography that is grounded in character, advances the narrative, and empowers actors to take creative risks with confidence.

Caitlyn serves as Associate Director for Student Success & Strategic Initiatives and Associate Professor of Theatre in the School of Performing and Visual Arts at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a Certified Teacher and Fight Director with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) an Associate Instructor with Dueling Arts International and a certified yoga teacher.

Whether in the rehearsal hall or the classroom, Caitlyn is committed to helping artists tell bold, honest stories through intentional physical storytelling.
